May Meeting - Vitor Lindo – Photographer &Cinematographer

 

LEARN TO USE THE VIDEO STTINGS ON YOUR CAMERA

FIinally learn how to use the video settings on your digital camera.

Vitor Lindo, a Photographer and Cinematographer co-founder of The Institute of Cinematic Arts in Savannah will be our guest speaker.

Vitor's intense passion for films and photographs have allowed him to acquire knowledge in every facet of the production process. Amassing credits as a Director of Photography, Still Photographer, Director, Writer, Gaffer, Sound Mixer, Editor and Colorist — a true Renaissance man of the medium.

He has an insatiable passion for visual Arts and an inherent interest for taboo subjects. In the Summer of 2011, he traveled to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to direct a feature length Documentary on the extremely secretive world of 'Candomble.' Vitor spent two months living with and documenting the rituals of the controversial Afro-Brazilian faith. The compiled material will be released in a Documentary and Photo-book, both titled "Dancing With Saints." He is currently in post production on both projects.

Offering an array of classes, the ICA also features workshops including acting, cinematography, lighting, modeling, Photoshop, screenwriting, video editing, and photography. It is also the only facility in the region to offer on camera acting classes specifically for film and television. His work can be viewed at http://www.dalundaproductions.com.

2013 Tri-Club Photo Competition:

The 2013 Tri-Club Photo Competition between our club and Hilton Head and Sun City, will be on Thursday, May 9 at 7pm at Hidden Cypress Hall in Sun City.  Refreshments will be provided by the host club, Sun City, from 6-6:45pm during check in. Again this year, judging will be done from the print of the image.  Digital submissions will only be used to display the image to the audience.  The digital portion of your submission must be received by Monday, May 6th at Midnight. The deadline May 6. The Dale Wescott Nature Photo Contest

The 2013 Dale Westcott Memorial Nature Photo Award is awarded to the student photographer who submits the best nature photograph, as judged by the Photography Club of Beaufort. To see this year's winners, clcik here.

The year-long theme for the Photography Club of Beaufort that will culminate in an exhibit at the Beaufort Library in December 2013 has just been announced. The theme will be "The Seven Deadly Sins." In case you need to be reminded of the list, here are the seven deadly sins:

Pride is excessive belief in one's own abilities, that interferes with the individual's recognition of the grace of God. It has been called the sin from which all others arise. Pride is also known as Vanity.

Envy is the desire for others' traits, status, abilities, or situation.

Gluttony is an inordinate desire to consume more than that which one requires.

Lust is an inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body.

Anger is manifested in the individual who spurns love and opts instead for fury. It is also known as Wrath.

Greed is the desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of the spiritual. It is also called Avarice or Covetousness.

Sloth is the avoidance of physical or spiritual work.
